This handsome boy is very friendly. The adoption fee for all cats is just $65 which includes their spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a micro-chip. What a great deal for a new little friend. We've had him examined by a vet and it appears that he's recently suffered a broken leg. It's healed on his own and the vet has determined that amputation is not necessary, however he will probably always have a bit of a limp and should be an inside-only cat. He appears to be older, probably 10 years old. We are looking for a home for him who will enjoy his purrs. If you contact the shelter about him, please refer to his case number 11-0084 because the shelter staff doesn't know them by name and there are over 100 pets there. Blockbuster and Borders Store Closings

Went out yesterday to both the Burleson Blockbuster and Borders stores that are closing.

((both are in connecting shopping centers along 1131 N. Burleson Blvd. Burleson, TX 76028))

So far Borders was at 20-40% off

and I think the deepest discount I saw at Blockbuster was maybe 30%

The higher discounts at Borders were 30% general merchandise and 40% magazines

Not too good of sales yet, I don't think the Blockbuster will have too much though as it was a fairly small store.

I will be keeping my eye on the Borders store, but I'm guessing the closer to the end of April when the store is supposed to close, the better the deals will be.

As always, know your prices ahead of time.... I was looking to get a graphic novel, on Amazon it's for sale around $14, on sale at Borders with the 20% discount it's currently at it was around $20...so not such a good price so I'll wait and see it I can't catch it at 50% or more!

Save a life Sunday! Lavender!

This young lady is Lavender and she's a special girl needing a special home. She's a special needs kitty that doesn't realize she's special needs. Lavender is one of the most affectionate kitties her foster mom has ever fostered. She was born in the fosters home to a Russian blue mom. As a baby, Lavender got very very sick. Her foster mom was able to keep her alive but she was so sick that she suffered neurological damage. The result is that Lavender can't walk very well although she puts her whole heart and soul into getting around and is very mobile. She actually can run very short distances as she tries to follow you around the house or play with her stuffed mouse. After a few seconds her legs just don't hold her up and down she goes but as fast as she goes down she's back up and moving around again.

Lavender loves being around people and is very affectionate. She has a loud purr motor and uses it often. She's best friends with two adult kitties and a small dog. The foster mom has to watch carefully though because the family dog can get kind of bouncy and Lavender has a hard time getting out of the way fast enough. She loves soft blankets, being petted and being curled up in your lap although you have to help her get up and down to any place very high. She does not have any special needs or requirements though. She's great with her kitty box and will use either crystal or clay kitty litter. Except for her issue that she had as a kitten she hasn't had any other medical issues. She'd probably be best in a home without very young children.

Lavender comes with a book called Homers Odyssey which is a story about the writers joys of living with another special needs kitty named Homer. Its a heartwarming tale which shows how much love these special needs kitties, includng Lavender, have to give and how difficult it is for them to find the loving home they long for.

Hello. My name is Zorro . My friends call me that because it looks like I'm wearing a mask and cape. I was born around St. Patrick's Day 2006.


I love to chase balls and play with the big cats..and I like to kiss my foster mom's face while she's sleeping. She doesn't seem to like it much but I'm just telling her that I'm her friend.

I like to pretend that I'm a brave and noble hero, but I'm a little shy and like to hide sometimes. I don't think I'll like kids and dogs, they are too noisy and fast for me.

I developed gum disease at a young age and I've had all my teeth removed. You might say I'm like a gummy bear! I also have a sensitive stomach, but as I get older it bothers me less and less. Do you have room for a superhero in your house?
