Save a Life Sunday!! Honey!

Hi, my name is Honey and I am a 9-year old buff and white, Domestic Shorthair tabby. My owner was moving and couldn`t take me along, so I am looking for a new place to call home. The Doctor at The SPCA says I need to lose some weight, so my diet is 3/4 of a cup of Science Diet Adult Dry a day. And when I get into my new home I should get some exercise too. I am de-clawed on my Front Paws, so for my own protection I need to be an Indoor Only Cat. I am reserved at first, but if you say my name and whisper sweet nothings to me I will warm up and show you how sweet as honey I can be. I am not fond of being held, but I love laps and if you want to get my motor purring try brushing me-I Love it! Please come and visit me beginning Thursday September 8th at the Duncanville Petsmart. Hey, I`m a V.I.P. now with a special adoption fee!

Save a Life Sunday!! Scarlett!

Gender: Female/Spayed
 DOB: 07/17/2009 est.
Declawed: No
Good with Cats: Yes
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Children: Yes
Medical Conditions: Food Allergies, Rhinotracheitis
Diet: Science Diet Z/D and Hairball Control

Scarlett was surrendered by her owner to an animal shelter. She was in horrible condition. She was suffering from severe dental disease that had settled into her upper respiratory system. She required heavy antibiotic treatment, dental cleaning with extractions and long term therapy. Now with a specific diet of Sience Diet Z/D and some Lysine treats, she is living a fairly normal life with only an occasion sneeze of stuffy nose. All she needs is someone to not be scared of her diet and see how sweet and deserving she is. She was adopted once before and made best friends with the adopter's Heeler. The two slept together and played peek-a-boo under the bed. Unfortunantly, she was returned due to a change in living conditions.

She has been in at least four different places in her three years of life. It would be so great for someone to fall in love with her like we have and give her a wonderful furever home. We enjoy her and her laid back ways. She is a sweet girl that purrs with every touch. She accepts change very well, but would do best in a quiet household. You can also meet this kitty and many others at Double Oak Veterinary Medical Center. Check out their website for directions and hours of operation. http://www.doubleoakvet.com/

Save a Life Sunday!! Moe!

This gentle giant is Moe. Hes a handsome boy who was adopted from the Frisco Humane Society in 2003 as a kitten but then dumped in a local shelter a few months ago given up by his family after 7 years. But he hasnt let that get him down - Moe is an extra special and friendly cat who gets along with everyone cats, dogs and kids. He loves to be exactly where you are (though you may not know hes around hes so mellow). Moe will follow you around the house while you do chores he probably wont help fold the laundry, but if you need a good buddy to chat with while unloading the dishwasher, hes your cat. Moe enjoys meeting new friends and sitting by a sunny window to watch the day go by. All in all, this loveable kitty is one of the best in town easy-going, friendly, and purrfectly happy at the foot of your bed for a good nights rest after a long day of relaxing.

For further information please email the address below or call 972-498-8980. Anyone interested in our cats will be required to fill out an adoption application. We do not adopt to anyone living out of the D/FW area. All our cats will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations. We do ask for a $135 adoption donation. To fill out an application on line, just go to http://www.friscohumanesociety.com/ and click on the Adoption Application link.

Save a Life Sunday!! Ray!

Pixie Kitty wanted to make a special note, that like her, Ray is a deaf bundle of fluffy marshmallow joy!

Ray was a very sick feral kitten when he was rescued. He had a severe upper respiratory infection and it took several weeks for him to fully recover, but the second her arrived at the animal clinic, they knew he would be a keeper. He is so affectionate and adores to be held and loved on. Through his recovery period, they knew something was different about him. He wasn't afraid of anything! Barking dogs, slamming doors, even vacuum cleaners didn't seem to bother him. They came to realize that Ray is deaf. Most of you know that lack of hearing isn't much of a problem for an indoor kitty, so Ray is getting on just fine. He would do great in the home of an understanding family (he certainly wont come when hes called!) with other gentle pets. He loves to have friends.

Save a LIfe Sunday!! Amici!

CHS Number: C4166DD
Nickname: Amici is Italian for "Friend"
Gender: Female / spayed
DOB: 5/1/2004
Declawed: No
Good with Cats: Some
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Children: Older children
Medical Conditions: Stomatitis
Diet: Proplan dry food

It is a wonder that a cat who has experienced a life of abandonment can be so loving. Amici was given up at age 3 when her owner got pregnant. She was adopted out; returned two years after that when her family moved to Europe. Amici, who is so loyal and affectionate, has been let down by her families twice now Though she is 7 years old, this happy and healthy girl still has a bit of the kitten in her and likes to play. But mostly, she likes to love. Shell greet you with tiny meows and rub up against your legs. When youre on the couch, Amici will rub her face up against your hands or face. When you talk to her, shell talk back in kitty talk. She is a lap cat and prefers to be with you all the time, but is also perfectly fine on her own amusing herself. As you can tell from the picture, she also loves to eatperhaps a bit too much! She will happily gobble down wet or dry food. She gets along fine with other cats, but if truth were told, shes a little bit bossy! Shes fine with dogs, she ignores them. This boomerang kitty, who has been abandoned too easily and too often, needs a final and happy ending to her wanderings. If you think your home might be improved by a little touch of kitty love, Amici may be the cat for you.

Save a Life Sunday!! Kizzy!

Birth date 7/4/2007

This sweet girl is Kizzy!!

Kizzy is a very very loving kitty! She's a special girl who loves hanging out with you and has a super special fondness for you. She's a tender girl with a low play level.

Kizzy was dumped into a local shelter by former owners that would not take care of her small medical problem - bladder stones, which have been removed and she is a healthy happy girl now. To help her and prevent future stones from forming, she will need to be on C/D food for the remainder of her life.

Her foster Mom would love to keep her as she is so special, but with all the kitties coming and going, Kizzy needs her own forever home.

So please consider her sweet personality and loving nature when you are looking for a new addition to your family. Kizzy deserves a family that will love her and take good care of her. Maybe that family would be yours.

For further information please call 972-498-8980.

Save a Life Sunday! White Knight!

White Knight
Poor White Knight had to have his eye removed due to an injury he received while he was living outside before he came to us. We are trying to raise the $300+ to cover his vet costs. If you can help, please make a donation directly to our vet at Ennis Veterinary Clinic, (972) 875-2647 3101 N Kaufman St, Ennis, TX 75119.

White Knight also needs a place to call home now that his eye is no longer hurting him. He is quite the sweetie and though a bit shy at first, he is quite the loverboy and deserves a wonderful home.
WHITE KNIGHT'S ADOPTION FEE HAS BEEN REDUCED TO $100.

You might wonder how I got so lucky as to be named the White Knight after Lewis Carroll's Alice iin Wonderland. I can tell you it is because I am SO handsome, so large (man, do I look like a cat that could carry around armour), so brave.

I am a wonderful solid white Maine Coon mix boy. I am quite large and have a lovely large head and body. My foster mommy tells me how much she loves me every time I rub on her legs and give her kisses. I am not a lap cat, but I am a wonderful boy, sweet and cute in a gentlemanlike sort of way.
I was dumped at a kill-shelter with 17 other cats, so I definitely deserve my own kingdom.

Adoption fee is $100.
Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are:
We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process:We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

Save a Life Sunday! Mike!

Mike is one of the First Kitties I posted on Save a Life Sunday, Sadly he is still looking for a Furever Home :(

Mike is a handsome, sweet, laid-back 3-legged Domestic Shorthair. He is ~4 years old and is EXTREMELY affectionate. Although he often seems like a dog in a cat's body, it takes him awhile to get used to dogs and other cats. As long as the dogs and cats are laid back as well, he would do fine in an environment with other animals. Also, Mike would do best in a home with older children or just adults. Mike is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm/flea prevention. To adopt this pet please go to http://www.metroporthumanesociety.org/ and fill out an adoption application form. The foster home can then contact you to discuss the adoption.

Save a Life Sunday! Grady!

Hi, I'm Grady. I'm an extra-special 1 year old boy. I am still young and love to play. I love to play with people and cats and I love dogs, too! I also love to just hang out and learn about everything. I'm very affectionate, come when I'm called and love to play hide-n-seek! I absolutely adore other cats and prefer the company of people or animals to being alone.

I developed diabetes after being given steroids, at 5 mos old for a possible bee sting, by my former owner. After being on insulin for six weeks, my glucose levels dropped and now my diabetes is controlled with diet alone. I have been off of insulin since Feb 15th, 2011! Now, my urine is tested once a week (by putting test pellets in my litter box) just to make sure my levels stay low. But I should never again take steroids or it may return.

My foster mom says I am a really good boy, with no bad habits, but that I really need to be in my own forever home where I can run through the house and be where all the family action is! I've been looking for for a new home for 5 months now.

If you'd like more information or would like to meet me, please contact my foster mom:

Ronnye Randall: 817-655-2901 or Email: ronnyegayle(AT)gmail(DOT)com

Adoption fee is $105 and includes spay/neuter, testing, worming, vaccinations including Rabies, and microchip implant and registration.

Adopters also receive 30 days of pre-paid health insurance from ShelterCare Pet Insurance. (A valid email address is required to receive the gift policy.)

Save a Life Sunday! Shey!

Shey is a 14yr old boy with a wonderful, loving personality. His front paws are declawed and he has beautiful markings on his face and coat. His owners gave him up because the Landlord found out Shey was at the house and required a hefty deposit. Shey got the short end of that deal - as he was no bother and didn't make any mess. Senior cats often times get overlooked, but if you have it in your heart to give this beautiful boy a home to live out his remaining years, please come look at him - you're sure to fall in love. **Note: Surrendered and stray animals (unclaimed after 72 hours) become the property of Irving Animal Services. On that date they may be adopted, transferred to a rescue organization or euthanized. If you have questions about any of our shelter pets, please call us at 972-721-2256. Thank you for your visit today!

Save a Life Sunday! Jaxon!

What a sweet 12yr old boy! Jaxon is so well behaved and affectionate. He would make a wonderful, loveable companion to come home to after a hard day at work. Senior pets often get overlooked, but don't discount this guy because of his age - he still has a lot of love left inside and needs a safe, secure home. He has the most beautiful light green eyes against his shiny black coat. He likes to 'talk', purr and curl up in a nice lap! **Note: Surrendered animals and strays (unclaimed after 72 hours) become the property of Irving Animal Services. On that date they may be adopted, transferred to a rescue organization or euthanized. If you have questions about any of our shelter pets, please call us at 972-721-2256.
