City Of Burleson Texas Fourth of July Plans

Don’t leave town July 4th! The Burleson Lions Club will host the annual parade, and the City of Burleson’s free Independence Day Celebration concert and fireworks show will take place at a new venue – Chisenhall Fields.

The Monday parade starts at 9 a.m. The theme is “One Nation Under God.” Military veterans are the honorees. The route goes from Irene Street to Gregory, Johnson, Ellison, Main, Bufford, Warren, Gregory, and back to Irene.

Concert goers, pick your spot starting at 5 p.m. The 90-minute show, headlined by
Voodoo Blue, begins at 7:30 p.m. at 500 W. Hidden Creek Pkwy. Voodoo Blue performed at the 2010 Hot Sounds of Summer concert series. The band formed in 2002 to pay homage to a guitar master – Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Fireworks will light upthe sky over Chisenhall after 9 p.m. If you plan to attend the City’s free celebration, drivers may turn right, only (towards I-35W), out of the Chisenhall Fields main arched entrance on to Hidden Creek. Drivers may turn left, only, out of the entrance closest to Irene Street. That left turn takes drivers
toward the Irene Street intersection and Hwy. 174/Wilshire Boulevard. For a map, go to
http://tinyurl.com/43guvs6 on the City website.

If you are on Irene Street heading southwest toward Hidden Creek Parkway, Irene will be closed to through traffic at the intersection with Gardens Boulevard. There are more than 600 parking spaces at Chisenhall Fields and more than 200 spaces available for overflow at Hidden Creek Sports Complex. Sidewalks connect the venues. Fireworks will be launched from the southeast corner of Chisenhall Fields. The City stage will be set up behind the pavilion, facing the football /fourplex. Patrons may sit on bleachers and fields surrounding the stage. The concession stand will be open but patrons may also bring a picnic and beverages.

No alcohol, glass bottles, pets, tents or canopies are permitted. Fireworks, including sparklers, are also not permitted. No parking will be allowed on Hidden Creek. No parking/police tow away zone signs will
be placed on Hidden Creek Parkway and Dobson Street. All median openings between
Irene Street and Dobson Street will be blocked for safety purposes.
