Sales Tax Holiday (Texas)Texas shoppers get a break from state and local sales taxes on August 21, 22 and 23rd - the state's annual tax holiday. This year's tax holiday begins at 12:01 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2009, and ends at midnight on Sunday, August 23, 2009. Every city and local taxing jurisdiction in the state will participate in the holiday, so the tax break applies to both state and local sales taxes.
