I haven’t taken any of the surveys for points yet….but today imagine my surprise when an offer for a FREE, no strings attached $10 gift card popped up in my inbox!!
Of course I dragged hubby right to the mall office, where the email told me to go with my email print out voucher, a flash of my driver’s license and a jotting down of my name and email and I had a nice new shiny gift card in my hubby’s hot little hand.
He got a new game from GameStop for 81 cents so he was a happy boy despite being dragged to the mall.
Moral of the story kiddies:
Even newsletters you might not think you’ll use can surprise you now and again!
For those that love books, here are some good places and deals to check in on when your to be read pile runs low.
Stores in the area
Friends of the Fort Worth Public Library
This may be a trip for some but book sales at the Friends of the Library Book Store are wonderful sources for both popular and hard-to-find titles. Thousands of books, sorted and categorized, are available in adult and children's literature at very reasonable prices. Proceeds from sales support Library collections, programs, and services.
This is a great little book store full of everything you can think of...audio books, paperbacks, videos, dvds, and hard backs. They may not have everything, but the shelves are well organized by the volunteers that work there and you can spend hours browsing the shelves just looking at all they have. Copies of various media range from used library copies to barely used donations from library patrons. They even have a small section of first editions and autographed copies.
The Friends Book Store
5332 Trail Lake Drive in the Wedgwood Village Shopping Center
Though not the first place you would think to look, many of these stores have awesome selections at dirt-cheap prices. Keep in mind you'll normally have to put some effort into looking and the book quality won't always be perfect, but these stores are great places to pick up older romance novels, best sellers from the past, and a wide array of kids books.
The Hurst superstore and the Watauga store have a better selection than most.
You can also get an extra 50% off already low price when you catch goodwill on a sale day.
Not only a great place to sell your unwanted books, CDs, records, and movies, but their stores also have great selections of the same used items at half price or more off the original cover/publisher price.
